My apologies, but as you've had to close replies to your latest post about shutting down ProseCraft, I have some questions.

I am a disabled author and digital media creator. I've been able to use those terms to refer to my career for over a decade before AI tools became publicly available.

I am generally AI-friendly because I've found several tools (not just generative tools, but some of them, too) to make it possible for me to continue creating projects I've had in the works for years but had had to mothball when autoimmune disease progression made it impossible for me to do the work I was previously capable of.

I'm trying to understand what the fuss is about your literary analysis tool. Were you providing access to full texts? Or quoting more than 250 words per passage to illustrate where the numbers came from? Because it doesn't' seem to me to be a violation of anyone intellectual property. Fair Use includes transformative, stating:

"'Transformative' uses are more likely to be considered fair. Transformative uses are those that add something new, with a further purpose or different character, and do not substitute for the original use of the work."

Also: "You should also be thinking about whether you have transformed what you have taken by adding expression, aesthetics, insights, and meaning that were not in the original work."

You clearly added insights. I'm sorry you are going to have to deal with so much vitriol from people who don't understand the difference between copyright of individual works and fair use of said works as a standard consequence of public media consumption pre-internet, post-internet, pre-AI, and yes, post-AI.
